Seen from the perspective of potential story options, the ability to enrich the entire saga of the Star Wars backstory and upon sheer fan enthusiasm alone, the creation of an Obi-Wan anthology seems like a no-brainer. If Lucasfilm does plan to bring Ewan McGregor back for Episodes 8 and 9, then it makes sense why they would be holding off plans for an Obi-Wan movie at this point. Or, perhaps Lucasfilm is waiting to see how the Han Solo anthology film performs before throwing another well-known hero into the ring. These are highly respected and cherished characters, after all and Disney might want to tread carefully.
It’s important to remember that these are still very much early days for the new face of the Star Wars franchise. With time, all will be revealed – and if Rogue One should perform as it’s predicted to, confidence will remain high for Disney to do right by a franchise that continues to enthrall generation after generation.
