The physical requirements for an actor to play a superhero can be a major burden. Hugh Jackman embraced the need to look the part of Wolverine, so much so that has transformed his body on more than one occasion to play the character. The Marvel Cinematic Universe, has had its fair share of actors following Jackman’s lead. Marvel’s three Chrises (Evans, Pratt, and Hemsworth) have all done the same. While Pratt impressed everyone with his overall change, Evans was able to flex his muscles to pull down a helicopter in Captain America: Civil War, and it appears Hemsworth is set to show off his physique in Thor: Ragnarok.

Hemsworth’s third solo film will bring in even more muscle with Hulk, but also possibly one of Marvel’s newest heroes. While the plot specifics are still under wraps, Thor and friends will be traveling across the galaxy and Hemsworth recently proved Thor is in tip-top shape.

The actor is currently in Australia filming Ragnarok, which puts him back closer to home. He took a break from filming to celebrate a win for the Western Bulldogs, a team in the Australian Football League. In honor of the win, he posted a photo on his Instagram showing off his impressive physical form, which should make all of Thor’s enemies tremble upon sight.

It should not come as a surprise to anyone that Hemsworth is once again in top form to play the God of Thunder, but he looks even bigger than normal, something that didn’t seem possible. One of the reasons for Hemsworth potentially being in such incredible shape is the likely long amount of time that he will be in this role. It will be easier for Hemsworth to maintain this form throughout Ragnarok and the back-to-back filming of Avengers: Infinity War and Untitled Avengers, instead of going back to his normal physic and then bulk up again.

Thor will need all the muscle he can get over the course of his next few appearances. While it is no certainty that Thor will be in both of the next Avengers films, he will be in at least one and Thanos is not going to go down without a fight. This next year or so of filming for Hemsworth could be the last time he must get in Thor shape for a few years, but it is impressive nonetheless.
